“Are you proposing to me?” I asked.

Noah looks at me intently. “If I say yes, will you marry me?”

“I won’t. This proposal is too plain. I want it grand and special. I deserve that kind of proposal you know.” I joked to lighten up the mood.

But Noah didn’t laugh nor smile. His face is still serious.

I sighed. “What’s wrong?”

Noah shook his head. “Nothing. I just realize that I’m not getting any younger and I’m a bit bored being alone for years. I think it’s best if I will settle down and I couldn’t think of any girl but you.”

I raised my brow. “So you see me as a woman now huh?!”

He smirked. “You’re a woman. Or do you see yourself as a man?” He said a bit sarcastically.

I glared at him. I didn’t speak. I know that something is going on. And I’m waiting for him to tell me what happened. So I can understand why he was proposing to me a while ago.

“I’m waiting, Noah Elordi,” I said after a long silence.

“What?! I was the one who was waiting for you to say yes. I proposed to you, remember?!” He said in an innocent voice.

I gave him the DON’T PLAY DUMB glare. He cleared his throat and straighten his sit.

Noah heaved a sigh. “Fine. Alexa is getting married.”

My eyes widen from a great shock! “For real?!” I reacted.

He grabs his wine glass and drank it. Poor Noah. No wonder he suddenly thought of proposing to me.

“I told you to move on and forget about her.”

I know it’s easier said than done. It’s hard to move on when love is real.

“I know. I was ready to give her up because I know that I lost already. But…”

My forehead creased. “But what?!” I said a bit impatient.

“But I slept with her.”

“You did what?!” I said a bit stunned.

“I slept with her okay?! Not just once. So tell me how can I move on from that?!” He said a bit annoyed.

I can’t believe what I am hearing right now. I know Alexa and she is not the type of girl who will sleep with someone she doesn’t love.

If she agrees to sleep with Noah, then that only means that she also feels something for Noah. Then why is she marrying Thomas?

“When did that happen?” I asked because I want to confirm something.

“Do I need to give you all the dates when we did that?” He asked in a sarcastic tone.

I look at him coldly. “Don’t give that kind of answer. Just tell me when did that happen?! Did that happen before she and Thomas became official or what?!”

Noah bit his lower lips. He was a bit hesitant and scared to answer me. He knew that I am not liking what I am hearing right now.

“Answer me, Noah!” I demanded him.

He saw how serious I am right now so he had no choice but to answer me truthfully. “It happened recently when she was already with Thomas.”

I hit the table. I felt so angry with Noah and Alexa. They know that I hate cheating! And I can’t believe that they are capable of doing that!

“How can you do this to Thomas?! Why did you guys do that?! Tell me!!!” I said angrily.

Noah went to me to calm me but I shoved him away. I hate him right now! I can’t believe he did that to his cousin!

“I’m sorry, my star, I’m sorry.” He pleaded.

I look at him coldly. “You don’t need to apologize to me. Apologize to your cousins. He was the one who was cheated on. But can you that?”

Noah averted his gaze. Looking guilty. Of course, he can’t do that.

“What really happened?! And why are only telling me this now?!” I said.

Noah forced himself to hug me. “I will tell you, but first you need to calm down, my star.”

I nodded at him. “Fine. Don’t leave anything and tell me ALL the things that I missed.” I said while emphasizing the word all.

When he felt that I am a bit calm he went back to his seat and started with his story.

“You know how obedient I am when it comes to you, right?” He started his speech.

I nodded and didn’t say anything.

“I was determined to move on and forget about her, so I told my mom that I am now allowing her to set me a blind date.”

“And you know how good my mom is when it comes to people. She introduces me to Eula. Their family is also in the food industry. She’s a good candidate for me.”

Noah didn’t tell me about this. He didn’t even introduce her to me.

“When I met her, I already knew that she was a decent woman. We got to know each other, and I can see potential in her. I even said to myself that I think she can be the one. I might love her as much as I love Alexa but I can love her right.” He added.

I still can’t find a reason why they lead to cheating. Based on Noah’s story just now, he was already on the right track. I did not say anything and just let him do all the talking.

“Then we had a family gathering. All our family is there including Thomas and Alexa. I brought Eula with me and introduce her to the family. My family liked her instantly. I saw Alexa’s reaction. She was shocked. And I noticed that she was kind of cold towards Eula but I chose to ignore it.” He said.

Bingo! I finally know where this story is heading to.

“A day after the gathering, Alexa went to my place drunk. I asked her, ‘Why are you here?’ She did not answer me. She just pushed me to get inside and started to kiss me.”

I tightened my grip on the wine glass.

“I tried to stop her and told her that she should stop she will surely regret this tomorrow. I even told her that I’m Noah and not Thomas. And she said that she knows who I am. She is not that drunk to mistake me for someone. And that she will not regret kissing me.”

“But you’re not. You are nothing to her but a mistress.” I can’t help but give my comment.

I am starting to hate Alexa!

He nodded. “I know. But I don’t care because this is the chance that I wanted. Finally, she sees me as something other than friends.”

I rolled my eyes hearing it from Noah. “You don’t deserve that, Noah! You are a great catch!”

“I know! That’s why I was hoping that Alexa will realize that I am indeed a great catch!” He said a bit frustrated.

“But she did not because unfortunately, she is marrying your cousin. What happened when she was sober? Did she regret it?” I asked.

Noah glared at me. “I told you we did it not just once.”

“Oh, so you became her official mistress!” I said in a sarcastic tone.

“I thought that she has finally realized my worth. But your right, she still failed to see my worth and what’s worst she made me her mistress.”

I was mad at him because of his cheating but I also feel sorry for him. Noah as I said, is a great guy. I can’t be someone to treat him like this.

He looked devastated. I went to him to hug him. I know he needed this kind of comfort right now.

Noah hug me tightly. “Are you not angry anymore?” He whispered.

I break our hug and glared at him. “I still am, but my love for you is so strong. I can’t bear seeing you like this.”

Noah smiled at me and hold my hand. “So will you marry me now?”

“Nice try Noah!”

I can’t sleep. I can’t get over what Noah told me a while ago. I can’t believe Alexa did that to him.

I clearly told her to avoid Noah and let him move on from her. I didn’t know she was that selfish! She doesn’t want to give up both Thomas and Noah!

And now she chose to marry Thomas because she knew that Noah is head over heels in love with her. She can always have Noah on the sideline. But she messed up with the wrong person. I will not let her get away with this!

I checked my iPad to see if I have free time tomorrow. When I saw that I’m free in the evening, I immediately grab my phone and call Alexa.

“Let’s meet tomorrow, I will text you the time and place,” I said when she answered my phone and end it.
